The Madison Group warehouse in Derrimut, Melbourne, faced significant mobile signal issues, preventing staff in both the office and warehouse from making or receiving calls indoors.

Simple repeater installation for game-changing signal strength

Despite nearby macrocells, the building’s construction materials, particularly e-glass, severely degraded the signal, necessitating a tailored coverage solution.

To resolve this challenge, Madison Connectivity (MC) implemented a Madison Commander enclosure with Nextivity Cel-Fi repeaters, ensuring seamless mobile connectivity throughout the facility.

The challenges

The primary challenge was the signal degradation caused by the building’s modern construction materials.
While nearby macrocell towers were visible, their signals were significantly weakened indoors.
Additionally, the warehouse’s large, open space and high tracking aisles required strategic antenna placement to ensure complete coverage.

The solution

A Madison Commander enclosure housing Nextivity Cel-Fi repeaters was deployed to capture and rebroadcast the external signal throughout the facility. The solution included 15 antennas, with 4 wall-mounted antennas positioned to optimise coverage down warehouse aisles, addressing the unique challenges of the large storage environment.

The outcome

By leveraging Madison Commander’s efficiency and security, installation time was minimised, ensuring a quick and effective resolution to the coverage challenges. This project stands as a testament to MC’s expertise in delivering customised, high-performance in-building mobile solutions for complex environments.

The results

Following the installation, staff immediately reported significant improvements in mobile connectivity, enabling seamless voice and data communication across both the office and warehouse spaces.
