Why Indoor 5G Matters
The majority of data usage takes place indoors, however buildings and structures are made of materials that cause signal interference and poor coverage. Indoor 5G solutions such as DAS and Repeater systems resolve these issues and offer:
- Enhanced Speed
- Increased Capacity
- Low Latency
- Capacity for Growth
Our Role in Indoor 5G Projects
Madison Connectivity provides tailored 5G solutions designed to integrate seamlessly into existing infrastructure or as part of new developments. Through collaboration and truly understanding our partners’ projects we supply solutions that provide coverage how and where they need it.
MCF2025 opens the door to a more collaborative and innovative approach to indoor communications, along with embracing low-power active technology. As the exclusive channel partner for Ericsson Radio DOT in Australia, we proudly connect businesses to the latest technology in the indoor 5G space.

Types of Indoor Coverage
Traditional DAS
Traditional Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) are a well-established solution for providing reliable cellular coverage in large buildings or areas with weak signal reception. These systems use a network of antennas connected to a central unit via coaxial cables to distribute signals throughout the space. Traditional DAS is particularly effective in complex environments, such as office buildings, airports, or stadiums, where it ensures consistent connectivity by amplifying the signal and extending coverage. However, they often require extensive cabling and hardware, making installation more complex and costly. This setup may also face scalability limitations, especially as technology evolves or network demands increase.
Low Power Active (Ericsson Radio Dot)
Low Power Active systems, such as the Ericsson Radio Dot, offer a more modern and flexible solution for improving indoor cellular coverage. These systems use small, low-power antennas (Radio Dots) that connect to a central unit via fiber-optic cables. They are designed to be easy to install and expand, providing cost-effective coverage for a range of environments. Radio Dots can deliver high-speed 5G connectivity and operate with minimal infrastructure, allowing for a more scalable and streamlined deployment. They are ideal for businesses or organisations looking to enhance coverage without the complexity and expense of traditional DAS systems.
Cellular Repeaters
Cellular repeaters are another effective option for boosting mobile coverage in areas with poor reception. These devices capture weak signals from the nearest mobile tower and amplify them within a building or specific area, providing improved signal strength and connectivity for mobile devices. Unlike traditional DAS, repeaters are typically easier to install and are less invasive, making them a popular choice for smaller spaces or less complex environments. In Australia, Cel-Fi repeaters are the only approved solutions for use, ensuring compliance with local regulations and preventing interference with mobile networks. They provide a simple and cost-effective option for improving cellular performance, especially in buildings or locations where other solutions may be less feasible.
