6 & 8 Parramatta Square

The sheer scale and complexity of Parramatta Square presented unique challenges. The installation spanned over three years, requiring precise planning and execution. A significant development arose during the bidding phase when the industry transitioned from MCF2014 to MCF2018 standards, necessitating a full redesign of the project to align with new regulatory requirements.

Additionally, working within a premium commercial space demanded the highest levels of precision and quality, requiring close coordination with multiple trades to maintain project timelines and meet exacting standards.

To meet the connectivity demands of such a large-scale development, a sophisticated DAS solution was deployed, featuring 900 antennas across 55 storeys—the largest project MC had completed at the time . Due to the size and requirements of the buildings, a Passive DAS with Remote Radio Units (RRUs) was deployed.

The solution was carefully designed to align with MCF2018 guidelines, ensuring carrier-approved coverage and future-proofing the building’s infrastructure for evolving mobile technologies.

Despite the project’s scale, MC successfully delivered the solution on schedule, overcoming challenges posed by evolving industry standards and the intricacies of a high-profile commercial build.

Upon completion, the DAS solution provided seamless, high-speed, and secure mobile connectivity, significantly enhancing the experience for tenants and visitors alike. The success of this project underscores MC’s expertise in delivering large-scale, high-performance in-building connectivity solutions within Australia’s most prestigious commercial developments.

By providing a well-designed solution that incorporated the temporary and permanent repeaters alongside the DAS, we catered to the needs of the client and enabled connection throughout the centre during the installation and beyond. The redevelopment is ongoing, however each of the completed phases have been a great success for Westfield, Scentregroup and Optus.
